Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) is pleased to announce the nominees for the PFA A-League Player of the Month for March.

Taking into account rounds 20 to 23 the six nominees come from five different clubs, with two coming from the high-flying Wellington Phoenix.

The nominees for the PFA A-League Player of the Month for March are:

  • Kerem Bulut, Western Sydney Wanderers;
  • Marc Janko, Sydney FC;
  • Fahid Ben Khalfallah, Melbourne Victory;
  • Brandon Borrello, Brisbane Roar;
  • Nathan Burns, Wellington Phoenix; and
  • Roly Bonevacia, Wellington Phoenix.

Having been voted by the players as the PFA A-League Player of the Month for February, Janko is in the running to become the first player to win the award back-to-back, with the Sky Blues forward on target on four occasions during March.

Bulut’s nomination caps a hugely impressive month with the forward starring for the Western Sydney Wanderers scoring three goals.

After being amongst the nominees for December, Melbourne Victory forward Khalfallah’s selection reflects the outstanding form of the Tunisia International, who has lit up the A-League.

Enjoying a break out season, young forward Borrello’s nominations caps what has been a fantastic season for the Australian Youth International.

Instrumental in the club’s table topping season, Phoenix duo Burns and Bonevacia’s nominations come after the pair continued to excel for the club, with Burns having previously been the recipient of the award for November.

PFA President Matt McKay said the six nominees further highlighted the ever-improving standard of the competition.

“All six of the nominees have been outstanding during March and are all extremely deserving of being amongst the nominees,” said the Socceroos midfielder.

“They have all played a huge role in what has been a brilliant March and I have little doubt that they will continue to excel in the final weeks of the season.”
