Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) is pleased to announce the nominees for PFA A-League Player of the Month for April.

Dominated by Adelaide United and Sydney FC players the five nominees were selected by an awards committee, which is made up of former Socceroos and leading figures in the Australian football media.

The PFA A-League Player of the Month Nominees for April:

> Sergio Cirio, Adelaide United

> Tarek Elrich, Adelaide United

> Alex Brosque, Sydney FC

> Milos Dimitrijevic, Sydney FC

  > Matthieu Delpierre, Melbourne Victory.

Elrich’s nomination caps a truly outstanding season for the Socceroos defender who scored a brilliant solo goal against Melbourne City in the final round of the season. His fellow United star Cirio also enjoyed a stellar April with the forward continuing to torment defenders.

Having scored four goals in April, Sky Blues Captain Brosque led his team to a second place finish for the regular season. He was joined in the nominees by teammate Dimitrijevic who has been nominated for the third time.

Frenchman Delpierre was nominated for the first time having played a key role in the Victory’s Premiership triumph since recovering from injury.

PFA President Matt McKay hailed the nominees, with the Socceroo predicting that all five will have a big impact on the finals series.

“These five players have lit up the A-League during April and are truly deserving of this recognition,” said McKay.

“They are all likely to have a big say on their team’s fortunes in the A-League finals series, which are looming as the most exciting yet in the competition’s 10 year history.”
