PFA Awards Committee

The PFA Awards Committee is responsible for determining the PFA Footballer and Young Footballer of the Month and the annual nominees for the PFA Footballer of the Year and the PFA Harry Kewell Medal.  The Committee is made up of some of Australia's greatest recently retired professionals and football analysts: 

  • Paul Okon (former Socceroo captain who starred in some of Europe’s biggest leagues including the Italian Serie A and the English Premier League)
  • Stan Lazaridis (former Socceroo, recently retired Perth Glory marquee player and English Premier League) 
  • Tony Vidmar (former Socceroo, recently retired Central Coast Mariners marquee player and veteran defender who excelled in Europe especially at Scottish giants Rangers) 
  • Andy Harper (300 game National Soccer League veteran and Fox Sports commentator)
  • Craig Foster (former Socceroo, English pro and SBS chief football analyst)
  • David Zdrilic (former Socceroo, recently retired Sydney FC championship player and media analyst) 
  • Paul Trimboli (former Socceroo, South Melbourne great and Fox Sports analyst)
  • Francis Awaritefe (former Socceroo, 300 game NSL great and SBS football analyst)
  • Michael Lynch, chief football writer for The Age 
  • ESPN football commentator Andrew Orsatti
  • Dave Davutovic, freelance Australian football analyst based in the UK.

PFA Chief Executive Brendan Schwab is the non-voting chair of the committee and PFA Player Relations Executive James Johnson is the non-voting secretary of the commitee.

The PFA is delighted to announce, with the support of LUCRF. the nominees for the PFA Footballer of the Year, the PFA Harry Kewell Medal and the inaugural PFA Women's Footballer of the Year.

The winners will be announced at the Australian Football Awards on Thursday 7 October in Sydney.
