Player Representation
The PFA, through collective and industrial representation, has the ambition to ensure football becomes Australia’s sporting career of choice and its safest and most universal sport for men and women. At the heart of the PFA’s work are the players, who through representative positions on the Executive Committee, or as club delegates, help to advance and protect the players’ interests, conditions and welfare and actively resolve issues on their behalf.
For the 2022/23 period this Annual Report covers, the composition of the Executive Committee changed with President Alex Wilkinson and Nikolai Topor-Stanley concluding their duties as President, following their retirement.
The PFA's membership reached 705 professional players, reflecting the addition of members from Central Coast Mariners’ ALW team, while the PFA’s legal team secured $2.36m in unpaid wages for PFA members over the course of the 2022/23 financial year.
