Events
2022 PFA Agents Conference
The PFA held its annual Agents Conference for Australian player agents and leading experts from the football industry in September 2022. The Conference, held in partnership with the Australian Football Agents Association (AFAA), provides an opportunity for accredited player agents to participate in a series of workshops and presentations in areas of critical importance to professional players both on and off the pitch.
Speakers included the Managing Director of the Australian Professional Leagues Danny Townsend, human rights lawyer and CEO of sport and social impact organisation Athlead, Kat Craig, FIFPRO Legal Director Roy Vermeer, Football Australia’s General Manager - Professional Football - Natalie Lutz, CEO of the Football Coaches Australia Glenn Warry, and PFA Co-Chief Executives Beau Busch and Kathryn Gill.
The 2022 Conference covered a variety of topics impacting both agents and the management of professional players, including:
- Agent regulations and reforms;
- The International Transfer Market;
- Training compensation;
- Player welfare and development;
- Athlete abuse and safeguarding;
- National Second Division planning
- An overview of the Australian Professional Leagues’ vision and strategy; and
- Summary of the 2021-2026 A-Leagues Collective Bargaining Agreement;
Player Awards
PFA Players’ Awards recognise, reward and celebrate Australia’s most outstanding male and female players each season, based on the principle of peer recognition. The awards consider both the domestic and international features of the career path pursued by elite Australian professionals. The awards were voted on by the PFA membership and take into account the performances of PFA members during the recently concluded 2021/22 regular season.

Jessika Nash
Australian international Jessika Nash was awarded the 2021 Collette McCallum Medal which celebrates the overall conduct and commitment of a female player representing Australia’s junior teams. Nash was presented the award at Sydney FC training in March 2022.
Dylan Tombides Medal
Harry Souttar
Socceroos and Stoke City defender Harry Souttar received the Dylan Tombides Medal, a prestigious youth award which celebrates the overall conduct and commitment of a player to Australian football.
PFA Community Medal
Rebekah Stott
One of the A-League Women’s most inspiring figures, New Zealand International Rebekah Stott, has received the PFA’s Community Medal for raising funds and awareness for blood cancer patients.
