Football Mourns Puerta

THE Spanish Players’ Union, AFE, and FIFPro have offered their sincere condolences to the family of Sevilla defender Antonio Puerta, who tragically passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest during Sevilla’s recent game against Getafe.

Gerardo Movilla, President of the Spanish players’ union AFE and Vice President of FIFPro gave his shocked reaction:

“We extend our sympathy to the family of the player, to all of the Sevilla players, to the staff and to the management of the club and to all of his fans. Antonio was a member of AFE and of FIFPro. He was not only a very talented player, but also much-beloved among the public. Everybody liked him, he had nothing but friends. This is a very sad day for the world of football.”
