From his life as an emerging footballer in Victoria’s junior ranks to representing the green and gold of the Socceroos, from the English Championship to the 2. Bundesliga, Jackson Irvine’s football journey has been as varied as they come.

Throughout his growth as a player, Jackson has developed a strong persona off the pitch, developing a passion for social issues, which have been supported by the distinctive culture of his current club, St. Pauli and his recent appointment to the PFA Executive.

Footballers’ Host Jake Barker-Daish connected with Jackson while the Socceroos midfielder was in camp with the national team in January to discuss his journey in professional football – and finding his identity, passion and voice.

You can watch the full chat between Jackson and Jake via the PFA’s YouTube channel below, or listen by subscribing and listening to the Footballers’ Voice podcast via SpotifyApple and Google.
