A-League Players launch the 2007/2008 A-League Season

Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners kick off the third A-League season tonight, with the evenly balanced competition promising higher quality football and intense stadium atmosphere.  The playing rosters of A-League clubs feature a distinct mix of four key ingredients: (1) experienced Socceroos; (2) internationals from the football cultures of Latin America; (3) increasing opportunities for Australia’s champions of the future; and (4) mature A-League professionals who provide the foundation for their team.

PFA Executive Chairman Brendan Schwab today congratulated all A-League Clubs on their vigorous sand strategic recruitment, which looks set to ensure the 3rd A-League season is the best ever.

“We are delighted with the balanced approach to recruitment throughout the league,” Schwab said today.  “In addition to the many high quality professionals who can enjoy a career path at home, three clear trends have emerged which look set to not only provide high quality and entertaining football, but also ensure the A-League contributes to the ongoing development of Australian players.
