The outstanding form of Diego Castro has been honoured with the Perth Glory forward today announced as Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) A-League Player of the Month for February.
Having narrowly missed out to Bruno Fornaroli for the January award Castro enjoyed a brilliant February.
Starring in Glory’s three wins in four matches, the Spaniard was also on target in their 6-3 win over Brisbane Roar.
Castro said he is extremely proud to have been voted by his peers as the A-league Player of the Month.
“All players value the recognition of their fellow professionals and this award means a lot to me,” said Castro.
“I would like to thank my teammates, the fans and everyone who voted for me. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the A-League and I hope we can achieve something special this season with the club.”
PFA President Matt McKay said Castro’s performances had lit up the A-League.
“Diego has consistently been one of the league’s standout performers and February was no different,” said McKay.
“He has already made an enormous contribution to the A-League and I have little doubt he will continue to do so throughout the remainder of the campaign.”
