The scintillating form of the Melbourne Victory’s Fahid Ben Khalfallah is honoured with the forward named as the PFA A-League Player of the Month for March.

Having previously been amongst the nominees for December, Khalfallah edged out Kerem Bulut, Marc Janko, Brandon Borello, Nathan Burns and Roly Bonevacia to become the fifth recipient of the player voted award.

Instrumental in the Victory’s table topping season the former Bordeaux star lit up the A-League during March, scoring once and terrorising defenders with his technique and game awareness.

The Tunisian International said he was extremely proud to have been chosen as the PFA A-League Player of the Month for March.

“I’m very happy to have been chosen by the players as the player of the month, it is a great honour,” said Khlafallah. “We play good football at the club and this is a team award because my teammates make this possible.

“When I came to Australia I didn’t know what to expect and I have been very impressed by the club and the league. It’s a very good level and the club is just like playing in Europe with the crowds and the facilities and I’m very happy at the Victory.”

PFA President Matt McKay hailed the impact of Khalfallah on the A-League and said it was crucial that the league continued to attract players of his quality.

“Throughout the season Fahid has been one of the league’s most outstanding players and no more so than during March and he is hugely deserving of the award,” said McKay.

“It is vital that we are able to retain and attract players of his quality to ensure the A-League continues progress.”
