Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) is pleased to announce Brisbane Roar forward Jamie Maclaren as the PFA A-League Player of the Month for October.

Having starred for his new club in the opening four rounds of the season, scoring three goals, the Olyroo forward narrowly edged out Roar teammate Brandon Borello and Melbourne City midfielder Aaron Mooy to win the award.

“It’s an honour to be voted by my fellow players as the PFA A-League Player of the Month,” said Maclaren.

“The season has started really well and I’m really enjoying my football and this award just tops it off. I would like to thank my teammates and the coaching staff who have made me feel so welcome at the club.”

PFA President Matt McKay paid tribute to the impact Maclaren has had on the competition in the opening rounds of the season.

“Jamie has shown just how talented he is and why he is widely regarded as one the league’s most outstanding young players,” said McKay.

“He is thoroughly deserving of this recognition and I’m sure it will not be the last honour that comes his way.

“I would like to acknowledge all the nominees, who made it a tough task to choose a winner for this month, and who have set a high bar for the season.”
