Matildas stars Elise Kellond-Knight and Lisa De Vanna’s outstanding performances at the World Cup recognised, with the duo selected in the tournament’s All-Star Squad.

Having both previously been honoured with selection in the Dream Team, the pair were this time named in the 23 women squad alongside the likes of Nadine Angerer and Aya Miyama.

“Both Elise and Lisa’s performances during the World Cup were truly remarkable and they along with all their teammates once again showed the world the quality of Australia’s footballers,” said PFA Chief Executive Adam Vivian.

“They should be extremely proud of being recognised by FIFA’s Technical Study Group as amongst the best 23 players at the tournament. There are some truly stellar names in the squad and Elise and Lisa are right at home in such esteemed company.”

PFA President Matt McKay echoed Vivian’s comments.

“This is a huge honour for both Lisa and Elise and they should be extremely proud,” said the Socceroo.

“The Matildas captured the attention of the world during the tournament and this once again highlights the quality of our top female players and the enormous potential of the women’s game in this country.”
