It was a big day of milestones as the FA Women’s Super League kicked off its 10th season over the weekend. Eight Australian players made their league debuts while Sam Kerr netted her opening goal of the season for Chelsea.

Chelsea striker Sam Kerr opened her goal scoring account for the season as her team drew 1-1 against Manchester United. Kerr made her Chelsea debut in January, scoring her only other FA WSL goal against Arsenal on January 19.
Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord both made their league debuts for Arsenal in their 6-1 demolition of Reading. Catley started the match and played 69 minutes, while Foord was subbed on for a late cameo which was still enough time for her to collect two assists.
Foord looked right at home in her league debut after already playing for Arsenal in the FA Cup and Women’s Champions League after joing the club in January.
Elsewhere in the FA WSL, Ella Mastrantonio and Chloe Logarzo both debuted for Bristol City, playing the full 90 minutes in a 4-0 loss against Hayley Raso’s Everton. Raso also made her debut for the Toffees, playing 71 minutes in a long awaited debut since joining the club in January.
More Aussies battled it out against each other in another fixtuer as Alanna Kennedy’s Tottenham drew 1-1 with a West Ham team featuring Mackenzie Arnold and Emily van Egmond. Kennedy and van Egmond made their debuts as subs for their respective teams while Arnold started in goals for the Hammers, playing the full 90 minutes.
