The PFA is pleased to support Football Federation Australia in the launch of My Football Career.
This comprehensive program is there to assist and safeguard the interests of footballers away from the game.
Services are available to all A-League players, all members of Australia’s national teams (including the Socceroos) and elite amateurs in Australia. There are a number of resources and services available to footballers under the broad areas of:
- Professionalism and performance management
Assistance is available through FFA/PFA Player Advisory Panel, introductions to industry networks and My Football Career Ambassadors and Champions together with qualified medical staff to assist with ongoing health and fitness management.
- Career management and networking
Career and Education advisers will assist players to access a wide range of support networks in a coordinated transitional management process.
- Learning and development
A one year Apprenticeship program has been developed for all first year A-League players and targeted young Socceroos and Matildas.
- Lifestyle management
The Ambassadors and Champions program has been developed to provide a valuable resource in the form of former footballers who can provide advice and act as role models or mentors. In addition, there are counseling services available through Relationships Australia.
- Financial management and planning
The My Football Career program is able to provide independent financial assistance to all players through either NAB or the PFA.
