September shapes as an exciting month of action for Australia’s National Teams, the Matildas and Socceroos.
The Matildas will kick-start the month with a two game series against 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medalists Canada in Brisbane and Sydney. The match in Sydney will be the first match in the newly constructed Sydney Football Stadium.
The Socceroos will close out the month by celebrating their centenary with a friendly against New Zealand, a match that doubles as a farewell for November’s 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
To coincide with the action on the pitch, the PFA will be hosting Past Player Program events before the Matildas matches and coordinating a Past Player Health Day on the 22 September, to reunite past players off the pitch.
The Past Players Health Day will be held on the same day as the Socceroos and New Zealand match at Suncorp Stadium, and will include PFA partners Spotscreen, Heartbeat of Football and BioEye, who will providing screening for attendees to check for skin cancer, concussion side effects and provide a heart health check-up.
The events continue the PFA’s commitment to supporting players after football and ensuring the organisations safeguards their health.
Please see below the key information relating to the events. If you are a member of the Past Players Program and you are interested in attending, please contact pastplayers@pfa.net.au
