Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) is pleased to announce Perth Glory striker Rachel Hill as the PFA W-League Player of the Month for November.
The 22-year-old American is starring in her debut Westfield W-League season with seven goals so far to top the goal scoring chart.
But it is not just her scoring feats that have proved valuable, with her work rate and ability to link up with team mates also contributing to Perth Glory’s strong start to the season.
Voted on by the PFA’s W-League based members, Hill said being named the Player of the Month meant a lot, especially being her first venture to play in Australia.
“It’s a great honour to receive this award, especially with this being my first month playing in the competition,” said Hill.
“But obviously I wouldn’t have won it without the incredible hard work of my teammates who have been fantastic.
“I feel that I’ve really gelled with the team and that’s down to this being such an easy group to jump into. They have been so welcoming since day one and made me feel so comfortable.
“We’re performing well, but are still looking to improve every time we train and play.”
PFA Executive Lydia Williams paid tribute to Hill’s great start in the W-League.
“There is a host of quality foreign talent in the W-League this year and Rachel is proving to be one of the finds of the season so far,” said Williams.
“If she keeps performing at this level there’s every chance Perth Glory will be there featuring at the business end of the season again.”
The PFA W-League Player of the Month is proudly supported by PFA major partners LUCRF Super and Victoria University.
