Professional Footballers Australia (PFA), on behalf of Mitch Nichols and his management Benchmark Sports & Entertainment, releases the following statement after Football Federation Australia (FFA) announced a four match sanction for Nichols in relation to a breach of National Code of Conduct.
“It has been a very humbling time for me and I unreservedly apologise for my error in judgement,” said Nichols.
“I have accepted the consequences and I am now focused on moving forward with my career.”
PFA Chief Executive John Didulica said the PFA would continue to support Nichols.
“Mitch is a valued member of the PFA and is very highly regarded,” said Didulica.
“Like all our members we will continue to ensure he has the full support of the PFA at all times and we know Mitch has a strong support network around him.”
