Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) can today confirm that the Newcastle Jets have withdrawn its notice of a breach of code of conduct assigned to David Carney.

Following the Jets decision the PFA has subsequently withdrawn its grievance against the club.

PFA Chief Executive Adam Vivian welcomed the Jets’ decision and praised the conduct of Carney in extremely trying circumstances.

“Throughout what has been a very difficult time for David his professionalism and integrity have been of the highest possible order,” said Vivian.

“As has been the case during his time at the club David remains completely committed to the Jets and is eager to put the matter behind him and focus on helping the club climb up the ladder.”
