Professional Footballers Australia confirms that Awer Mabil and his mother, Agot, will arrive back in Adelaide later today.
Awer and Agot will be reunited with family and friends this evening for the first time since the tragic loss of his sister, Bor, following a car accident on early Saturday morning.
On behalf of the family the PFA respectfully requests that no media attend the airport or the family’s home.
Awer will not be making any public comment, nor will any member of his extended family, and he has respectfully requested that no photographs or filming of him or his mother are taken upon their return.
The PFA asks that the privacy of Awer and his family and friends continues to be respected at this deeply difficult and traumatic time for them all. In course, there will be an opportunity for Awer and his family to share their thanks for the community’s outpouring of support.
