An alleged incident involving Ali Abbas during the A-League Round 22 match between Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers is now being investigated by Football Federation Australia (FFA).

The matter will be investigated by FFA in accordance with the National Member Protection Policy.

PFA General Manager Adam Vivian said the PFA would assist FFA in their investigations.

“These allegations are of an extremely serious nature,” said Vivian.

“The PFA will work with all parties through this process, and will continue to deliver education programs that highlight the behavioral importance of language and conduct with regards to all areas of equality.

“We call on the privacy of those alleged to have been involved to be respected during this process.”

The PFA will be making no further comment on the matter until further notice.
