Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) is pleased to announce the nominees for the PFA W-League Player of the Month for November.
Proudly supported by major partner LUCRF Super and Victoria University, the nominees for the opening month of the season are:
- Rachel Hill, Perth Glory
- Sam Kerr, Perth Glory
- Clare Polkinghorne, Brisbane Roar FC
American striker Hill currently tops the goal scoring charts having found the back of the net seven times already, which included a hat-trick in Round 2 against Brisbane Roar FC.
Hill and Kerr, who was recently crowned the 2017 AFC Women’s Player of the Year, have combined for 11 of Perth Glory’s 14 goals from their opening five matches.
At the other end of the field, Polkinghorne has been a rock in defence for Brisbane Roar FC and an integral part of the Roar being the equal best defensive team in the competition to date.
PFA Executive, Lydia Williams said the trio are more than worthy nominees for their impressive starts to the season.
“Congratulations to Rachel, Sam and Clare on being the three nominees for November. All three have been extremely prominent for their respective clubs,” said Williams.
“There have been a host of outstanding players and performances so far across all of the teams, and with 66 goals scored in the first five rounds, it has been an action packed start to the season.”
