The Australian Professional Footballers’ Association is delighted to officially announce the adoption of our new name – Professional Footballers Australia – as approved by our members at the 2008 Annual General Meeting. It still means we are the PFA though!

The Australian Professional Footballers’ Association is delighted to officially announce the adoption of our new name – Professional Footballers Australia – as approved by our members at the 2008 Annual General Meeting.  It still means we are the PFA though!

In addition to the name change, we have launched our new brand, updated our internet site and restated our core values.

The PFA’s brand encapsulates our 5 core values of Respect, Intelligence, World Class, Courage and Trust. These values highlight the personal qualities a player needs to demonstrate to excel as a professional footballer, and underpin the work and decision-making of our association in support of Australia’s elite footballers.

A new PFA footballer displaying a position on the ball of technical quality features in our new logo.  Our footballer reflects the quality of the football industry the PFA is working to create in this country and the standard of work we aim to complete on behalf of our members.

Finally, you’ll notice that we have updated our internet site. The new site has been designed to help you easily find the information that you need to better manage your football career.

The ‘Your Career’ section of the site includes important information about the conditions that influence your football career. You can find information on injury pay, the minimum A-League wage, Player Agents/Management and how you can obtain advice from the PFA in this section.

The ‘Your Development’ section of the site assists you with the skills you can develop away from the field of play. Our Education Fund, My Football Career program and Special Assistance Fund can all be found in this section of the site.

In addition to this, we have added some video footage to the site and provided all you need to know about the footballers and staff that run your organisation.

If you have any feedback or ideas that you would like to provide on the site please contact us in relation to them.
