The PFA’s LinkedIn player workshops continue to be rolled out with Adelaide United players undertaking a detailed tutorial on the social media platform.
Aimed at equipping PFA members with the necessary skills to take advantage of LinkedIn, the workshops cover how to get started, how to use it effectively and how best to manage your network.
Having already been undertaken by the PFA’s Perth Glory Members, the workshops are administered by former Olympic rower Shaun Coulton.
PFA Player Development Manager for Adelaide United Cameron Borgas said the 90 minute workshop was a success.
“Professional athletes have a unique opportunity to network and LinkedIn offers them a really effective tool to take advantage of this,” said Borgas.
“The feedback from the players was positive. The workshop allows players to feel comfortable with using the platform and gives them the skills to get the most out of it.
“The PFA Player Development Program is aimed at empowering players with the skills to take control of their lives on and off the pitch, LinkedIn can be invaluable in helping players to do this.”
Inline with the PFA’s Beyond the 90 work experience program and Business Builders, which aims to help players develop business ideas, Adelaide United Captain Eugene Galekovic said the workshop was beneficial for the players.
“I have been using LinkedIn for a while, but the workshop has given me the skills to get much more out of it,” said Galekovic.
“As players we have a lot of fantastic opportunities to network and there is often a lot of interest in what we do and LinkedIn offers us a great opportunity to make the most of it.”
