Western Sydney Wanderers’ Nicolas Milanovic and Central Coast Mariners’ Isabel Gomez have been crowned the first winners of the Austraffic PFA Player of the Month award for the 2024-25 A-Leagues season, capping off a brilliant start to their respective campaigns.

The duo’s form was recognised by their peers, with both players receiving the highest number of votes out of the six players nominated for the Player of the Month in each the A-League Men and A-League Women competitions.

Milanovic has started the season like a house on fire, sitting atop the A-League Men Golden Boot charts with five goals to his name, taking his game to another level to begin the 2024-25 campaign.

The versatile attacker fired home a hat-trick in the Wanderers’ victory over Newcastle Jets and also has two assists in six games, taking his overall goal contributions to a league-high seven.

Meanwhile, Gomez has had a fantastic start to her second season at the Mariners.

Gomez has been the heartbeat of the Mariners’ midfield throughout the opening few rounds of the campaign, adding goals against reigning champions Sydney FC and Melbourne City, and earning a place in the Matildas squad for the November-December window.

However, injury ruled her out of making her national-team debut.

The duo will receive a specially designed ball from our partners at Park SCC as a result of winning the Player of the Month, and will choose to donate 10 balls to one of three charities – OneBall, KitAid Australia and Football United.
