The 12 nominees for the Austraffic PFA Player of the Month award have been locked in.
Each of the players in the running for the peer-voted PFA award were selected by a panel of former players and experts, who nominated the individuals based off their performances throughout March.
Due to the A-League Women’s home and away season coming to a close this past week, the ALW award will be deemed a ‘March-April’ award to include the final round of the campaign.
Meanwhile, the A-League Men prize will be for performances in March only, with a seperate April award to be voted upon due to three more rounds of the home and away season still remaining this month.
Across each of the A-League Men and A-League Women competitions six players have been nominated for the award. Nominees must be PFA members to be eligible for the award.
PFA Members will receive a link from the PFA to vote on the nominees this week. Take a look at the nominees, below.
A-League Women
Bethany Gordon (Canberra United)
A huge end to the season from Gordon helped propel Canberra United to an all-important home Elimination Final. Gordon scored twice and added an assist throughout the final rounds of the season, continuing a career year for the versatile midfielder who took her goal contributions to eight for the campaign. Strong performances like this from Gordon could be integral in Canberra’s hopes of A-League Women’s silverware for the first time in almost decade.
Lorena Baumann (Central Coast Mariners)
The Mariners’ A-League Women’s Championship defence may have come to a premature end in April, but their defence, led by the likes of Baumann didn’t go down without a fight in their pursuit of back-to-back crowns. Baumann helped her side keep three clean sheets from a possible four games throughout March-April, but despite going undefeated following the Women’s Asian Cup break, the Mariners just fell short in their pursuit of finals football.
Analee Grove (Central Coast Mariners)
Grove also played a huge role in the Mariners’ push for finals football and another Championship with a tremendous run of performances in goal. The Mariners goalkeeper kept three clean sheets during their finals push, conceding only one goal and making 21 of her 60 saves for the season during this stretch, capping off a sensational end to her first season in Gosford.
Rebekah Stott (Melbourne City)
Stott helped Melbourne City secure a third consecutive A-League Women’s Premiership throughout the final rounds of the season, continuing a superb year at the heart of defence. The New Zealand international was a rock in the heart of their back-line as City continued its six-game unbeaten run in the league en route to winning the Premiership, and even added an assist in their 3-1 victory over Canberra.
Sophie Hoban (Newcastle Jets)
Hoban ended the 2025-26 campaign for the Newcastle Jets in blistering form. The Jets midfielder bagged three goals – including a brace against Sydney FC – to go with an assist in their 3-1 win on the road at finals-bound Adelaide United. Her performances capped off another impressive season for the 24-year-old, who continues to grow as one of the more dangerous midfielders in the entire competition.
Brooke Nunn (Wellington Phoenix)
Nunn continued her brilliant season in Wellington, helping the ‘Nix to a first-ever finals appearance along with a place inside the top two. The English attacker bagged two goals and three assists during March-April, which included a match-winning performance against Adelaide United which saw Wellington take a massive step towards a semi-final berth. Nunn now leads the league in assists with six (alongside former teammate Isabel Gomez) and sits first for chances created (38) and big chances created (nine).

A-League Men
Sam Cosgrove (Auckland FC)
Cosgrove took his goal tally to double digits for the season during March, scoring three crucial goals in Auckland FC’s push for back-to-back A-League Men Premierships. The towering Englishman scored a brace in the Black Knights’ win in a top-of-the-table clash against Newcastle Jets, while scoring from long range in their 2-2 draw with Perth Glory a week earlier. The 29-year-old is now top of the Golden Boot charts going into the final weeks of the season.
Francis de Vries (Auckland FC)
De Vries continued his bright form in March with another string of excellent performances at left-back for Auckland. The New Zealand international continues to showcase himself as one of the competition’s most consistent players over the last two seasons, particularly with his ability to get forward and support his attacking teammates. De Vries took his tally to seven assists for the season, bagging assists against the Newcastle Jets and Macarthur FC, while also sitting second in the league for chances created with 61, and big chances created (14 for the season).
Andrew Redmayne (Central Coast Mariners)
For the third time this season, Redmayne finds himself among the nominees for the Player of the Month. The Central Coast goalkeeper continued one of his best seasons to date in March, helping his side stay in the mix for finals football with a string of top performances. Redmayne made a whopping 18 saves in March, including eight in Central Coast’s draw with Adelaide United and sits among the best performing goalkeepers in the league on all the key metrics including sitting first for saves per 90 (4.9) and second on save percentage (75.7%) along with goals prevented (4.4) according to FotMob.
Juan Mata (Melbourne Victory)
Another month, another Player of the Month nominee for Mata. The Melbourne Victory star – who has won the award twice this season – continued his sensational year in March, adding another two goals and three assists during their three-game unbeaten stretch. Mata’s highlight of the month came in Victory’s 2-2 draw with Sydney FC, where he scored a stunning long-range free kick to open the scoring, adding to an already impressive showreel for this campaign. The Spaniard now has 18 goal contributions for the season (five goals, 13 assists); topping both the goal contribution and assist charts heading into April.
Max Burgess (Newcastle Jets)
Burgess’ brilliant season at the Jets continued in March, playing a key role in Newcastle’s push for the Premiership. The midfield maestro was superbin the league leaders’ wins over Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC, where he got an assist for the opening goal in their clash with the latter. There haven’t been many more consistent players in the league this season than the 31-year-old, who looks destined to play a key role in Newcastle’s quest for the treble.
Isaac Hughes (Wellington Phoenix)
Wellington’s finals push continued in March and Hughes’ top form at the back played a huge part in keeping them in the mix for the top six. The 22-year-old centre-back was enormous throughout March, helping the ‘Nix to a three-game unbeaten run by expertly marshalling Wellington’s defence and even popping up the other end with an assist in their come-from-behind win on the road over Brisbane.
