Josh Nisbet and Chloe Logarzo have been named the PFA’s Austraffic Player of the Month for February, after a string of sensational performances.
The duo’s body of work throughout last month was recognised by their peers, who claimed the most votes out of the ten nominees to claim the award.
Nisbet – who won Player of the Month in January – continued his fine form throughout February, helping Central Coast Mariners scale the A-League Men standings off the back of a run of brilliant outings.
The midfielder was in the thick of everything for Mark Jackson’s side, playing every minute in the league and also put in two exceptional performances in their victories over Phnom Penh Crown and Macarthur FC in the AFC Cup.
“I am very honoured to be voted by my peers for this award,” Nisbet said.
“I’d like to thank my teammates for their support and performances, without them, this wouldn’t be possible.”
Meanwhile, Logarzo’s exceptional campaign continued in February, scoring three goals in three games, including a match winning brace against Brisbane Roar.
“I’m quite flattered but this wouldn’t be possible without such great team work and cohesion,” Logarzo said.
The Western United midfielder’s return to her best football has been one of the stories of the A-League Women’s season, after spending much of the last two years on the sidelines through injury, which robbed her of a place in the Matildas’ 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad.
However, her form for the league leaders earned her a recall to the Matildas last month, for their Olympic Qualifiers against Uzbekistan.
