Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) announces the nominees for the PFA A-League Player of the Month for November.
Selected by an awards committee, which includes former Socceroos and leading figures in the Australian football media, the four nominees for November vying for the award are:

  • Awer Mabil, Adelaide United;
  • Vedran Janjetovic, Sydney FC;
  • Nathan Burns, Wellington Phoenix; and
  • Leigh Broxham, Sydney FC.

Throughout November Mabil tormented A-League defenders with his pace and technique and scored in the Reds thrilling 3-2 loss to fellow highflyers Melbourne Victory.

Outstanding in any role he is asked to play, Leigh Broxham’s nomination comes after playing a starring role for the Victory as they continued their unbeaten start to the season.

Wellington Phoenix winger Burns enjoyed a stellar November, scoring four goals with his form seeing him included in the Socceroos provisional 46-man squad for the 2014 Asian Cup.

Janjetovic’s nomination comes on the back of some truly outstanding performances for the Sky Blues, with the shot stopper recording two clean sheets during November and countless brilliant saves.

PFA President Matt McKay paid tribute to the four nominees and said the recognition was more than deserved.

“All four players have played massive roles in the success of their respective clubs during November,” said McKay. “Once again it will be a very task for the players to now determine the winner with all four deserving recipients.

“With the Asian Cup now just weeks away it is hugely encouraging to see the A-League players performing at such a huge standard.”
